How to play
One country a day, the same for everyone, six tries.
- The outline
- The shape shown is a real country, to scale and the right way up. Nothing is distorted to make it harder.
- Every guess brings you closer
- A guess gives you three things: the straight-line distance to the target country, the bearing to reach it, and a closeness percentage.
- The bearing is a real course
- The arrow shows the initial bearing — the course a ship would steer at the start. On a globe, that is not the same as “up and to the right on the map”.
- One game a day
- Everyone gets the same country, derived from the date in Paris time. The next game arrives at midnight.
